Every night I go to bed with the best intentions. No matter what, I plan that tomorrow I will be better. I will eat healthier, run further and tick more off my to do list than ever before. Instead of counting sheep to help me sleep, I have always closed my eyes and imagined every detail of the next day – as though it could be perfect. When I was a kid I would imagine waking up and being able to fly or live in a house made of cake, but adulthood has seen me have slightly more realistic (aka horridly boring) goals – I often fall asleep to the idea that I will actually motivate myself to get up and exercise in the morning.

No matter what I achieve when the alarm goes off, everyday (without fail) I will drink a glass of lemon, apple cider vinegar and water. (Juice of one lemon, tablespoon of ACV and the rest of the glass of filtered water). I have talked before about my love of lemons and their general amazingness. Apple Cider Vinegar is like the equally amazing and beneficial older sister.

Here’s why I think you should love it just as much as I do:

It Improves Digestion The pectin in apple cider vinegar is known to “move things along” when bellies get backed up (yup, I’m talking poop on the internet again). Drinking it daily is a great way to beat the bloat and aid digestion before it causes discomfort.

It Clears Skin The morning combo of lemon and ACV has done complete wonders for my complexion, but this little baby can also be used as a spot treatment too. If you soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and dab it on your pesky pimple, it will vanish quickly and naturally. So save your pennies on the latest zit zapping pen from Boots (that costs HOW MUCH?!).

It Wakes You Up Apple cider vinegar is like an all natural (un caffeinated) energy hit. The tangy flavours combined with it’s powerful alkalising effect  will have you wide eyed and bushy tailed. Almost as good as coffee (but not quite).

It Boost Your Immunity When you’re adding that many healthy vitamins and minerals to your system, it’s going to help your immune system ward off illness. I drank this concoction all through winter and managed to survive the dreaded office cold (pretty sure I’m superwoman).

There are literally a million articles, studies and nutritionists out there with even more reasons why this drink is a daily must-do.

And it’s on the internet, so it must be right, right?
