I’m not going to sugar coat this guys – I freakin’ love this smoothie. It’s like drinking dessert for breakfast and it seriously picks me up whenever I make it.

The recipe is inspired by my absolute favourite treat when I’m out and about in the city; the Good Life Eatery’s Choc Norris (if you haven’t tried it, I recommend you get down there asap).

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • ½ an avocado
  • 250-300ml of milk of your choice (I use Rude Health Almond Milk)
  • 1½ tablespoons of cacao powder
  • A large handful of cacao nibs
  • Pinch of salt

Method

Pop everything except the cacao nibs into a blender until smooth (if it’s looking a bit thick then add more milk).

Once you’ve got the perfect consistency then throw in the cacao nibs and pulse a couple of times. I like to break these up a bit but still have a few crunchy bits in there.

And serve in your sexiest jar – voila!

I love simple smoothies with not that many ingredients, but if I do feel like spicing up the above I sometimes throw in ½ a tablespoon of maca powder (this can give it a slight caramel/earthy flavour) or even a serving of protein powder if I’m drinking it after a good gym session (I opt for unflavoured hemp protein powder).
